Organized by Music Houston, the HIMC seeks to encourage all young artists around the globe to pursue their passion for music and excel through perseverance. As a competition, we strive to inspire musicians to achieve their musical potential and express themselves in a way that is unique to classical music. We seek to support these young musicians by providing a valuable learning and performance opportunity for them. As we launched HIMC in the midst of our social climate and the COVID-19 quarantine period, we seek to uplift everyone by bringing a source of hope and motivation for all young musicians who may be going through a difficult time due to our surrounding crises. HIMC is the perfect opportunity for students to surround themselves with talented musicians worldwide while getting a scholarship to encourage their educational studies in classical music. ​The Houston International Music Competition encourages every student to perform the best they can.
